What is in a Date?

Various Calendars Combined Into One

Selecting a Date to do an activity is not new practice.

As early as the Han Dynasty [206BC-220AD] it was a classical Chinese practice to select a date to commence or close an activity.  The ancient Greek, Indian and even the Mayan civilizations all developed elaborate calendar systems to pick dates for specific activities.

The Gregorian calendar - the one that we all use daily - was introduced in October 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII as a modification of, and replacement for, the Julian calendar.  That too contains dates used specifically for activities - for instance, your birthday or the New Year.  It is a specific date, with specific activities that coincide with it.  This was based on the
Solar Calendar systems

And then there is the Lunar Calendar, which uses the phases of the Moon to calculate a Date for an activity.

But one thing that all these calendars have in common is the aspiration of understanding the universe and the cosmos through activities specifically planned and executed on the date that is most beneficial for those activities.

A farmer is not going to plant its crops in the middle of winter

You cannot harvest the fields in the beginning of spring.

Only learned people would have had access to any of these calendar systems in the ancient times.  Most people were farmers, workers, and could not even read!  This information was only available to the Emperors, Priests, Kings and Scholars.

These days, we are all literate to some degree, yet there are uses of the Calendar which is still not within our scope or practice.

It is no longer just available to just a select few.  Even you and I have access to it ... the question is can you read it and use it?

Why is it necessary to know about the different kinds of days?

There are days when the energy is just so 'closed in' that nobody seems to be able to function or get along with one another.  Then there are other days when people's minds seem to be more open, and it is easy to approach them about intricate matters.  Then there are other days when you just do not want to get out of bed.

Is it possible to spot these kinds of days with the help of a special kind of calendar?  YES it is.

The Art of Date Selection rests on the premise that there is a trilogy of calendars that we can consult, know in advance what is about to occur on a specific day and plan our strategic execution accordingly.

This calendar is the Chinese Metaphysical Calendar called the TongShu.  Various versions of this book have been compiled and has a written historical record of configurations of the planetary, lunar and solar cycles - spanning back as much as 10,000 years.

If we know occurred during specific configurations during the past, we can plan the future.
